IN EACH ROOM ◽ HOME
Tables are mostly where we gather to eat, and of course, we love to have them decorated so that our dining experience is a pleasure. But there are other tables to decorate as well, using what we have, or just inexpensive pieces to bring joy to a room!
I recently used Chat GPT to ask about rearranging my living area. After seeing their suggestion for a coffee table, which I haven’t had for ages, I realized I did have a set of nesting tables. These are so readily available on line, but they can be pulled apart to make two table areas! I found my nesting tables locally at Uptown Modern, but just search for them. And consider a set!
I used the two small nesting tables underneath as a coffee table. But we can also separate them and use them as a “TV tray” of sorts. One way to decorate a coffee table is to use a box, a plant and a candle. This trio looks so pretty and you might be able to find all of these things in your house! If not, try Marshalls for all three.

I used the larger table of the group to place behind my sofa. Light, height and texture are a good “rule of thumb” on a table. Add a lamp, maybe a tall vase of flowers, and a smaller item beside. If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, they have the best prices on fresh flowers! And look for a battery operated lamp if you can find one, since there may not be a plug behind the sofa. You might look around your home and find a table for behind the sofa, one uniquely yours and perfect!
Maybe you have a table on your patio that needs something on it. A tablecloth is always a great addition, and then a large round basket can provide the base for a faux plant – I chose a cactus. There are so many real-looking faux plants out there! After you’re done, enjoy the view from inside, as you look out the window.
Trios are perfect on a table, so be creative and shop your home first, then your garage, then vintage and then new…
