DATE NIGHT FUN ◽ MARRIAGE
We recently visited a leather store in a small town and were all enthralled with the options there, including watching the leather designer in his element. And the store smelled so wonderful. I started thinking about how leather is just so comforting and luxurious…so how could we make it part of date night out?
Here are five ideas:
Visit a leather store – Look in your area and find one. Take in the feel and the smells of leather, and consider purchasing something in the store, if you can. Even if it’s just a car freshener! Or visit a discount store and find a leather bag at a fraction of the price of a leather store. Enjoy your leather goods, and then visit a bookstore and grab a book about leather making and just read it to each other…for fun.
Google leather facts – Yes! Find out facts about leather that you didn’t know, then look in your closet for a leather item to wear out on your date night. It could be a belt or a bag, or shoes, or a wallet or jacket…anything at all. Go dancing somewhere in your leather. Then stop for coffee on the way home, as you both feel like a million bucks after wearing your leather and moving your body…
Dine on Leather – Find a steakhouse or a restaurant near you with leather booths or chairs and go there. Dress up for a date night out. Order just appetizers, or go for the full meal deal. Take your time, maybe invite another couple to meet you there. Make a list of leather chair restaurants and keep in handy for a meal on leather ever so often…because it’s awesome.
Leatherback – Do you know what this word means? Look it up! Then make a date to visit a zoo or an aquarium that has turtles. Then opt for something green as your food of the night – a salad, a veggie plate or mint chocolate chip ice cream! How fun this will be!
Leathery, No! - My husband was told once that he had leathery hands, and that was not a compliment! Why not make it a date night to shop for all things that soften you? Find some great lotion for your hands and your feet. Any sort of treatments to soften your skin or your look. Shop for these maybe in a mall, an indoor one, out of the heat. Walk the mall, enjoy a pretzel, and head home to try out your new products.
These are “different” than a normal date, aren’t they? Try them all in the month of August, just for fun. And see if each night out isn’t good…all related to leather.
