When our youngest left home, I was filled with pride and excitement—but also a deep sense of uncertainty. For years my focus had been on raising our kids, and suddenly that season was over. I remember wondering, Who am I now? What’s next for me?
As I prayed through those questions, I realized many of my friends were feeling the same way. The empty nest can be both freeing and frightening. It’s a season of change that asks us to rediscover who we are and to trust that God still has beautiful plans for our lives.
That realization was the seed that grew into Empty Nest Blessed. It began as a small idea—just a desire to share encouragement, humor, and hope with other women walking this road. Over time, it’s become a sweet community of women learning together how to embrace this new chapter with joy and faith.

​My book, Empty Nest Blessed: 60 Days to Finding Joy in the Empty Nest, was written out of that same heart. It’s a 60-day devotional-style journey filled with short, practical readings meant to inspire and uplift.
Each one includes Scripture, reflection, and a simple “Live It Out” action step—because joy doesn’t just happen; it grows as we live with purpose and gratitude.
The six sections walk through every stage of the empty-nest season—from preparing for your kids to leave, to rediscovering your identity, nurturing marriage and friendships, and learning how to parent adult children with grace and confidence. Along the way, you’ll also find fun extras like date night ideas, affirmations to share with your grown kids, and conversation starters to help you stay connected.
More than anything, my prayer is that this book reminds you that you’re not alone. God is present in every season—especially this one—and He delights in guiding us as we rediscover who He created us to be.
