DATE NIGHT FUN ◽ MARRIAGE

July 4 is Independence Day in America when we celebrate freedom.  So why not find ways to celebrate that word with him, this month, and make it so fun!  After all, offering freedom to each other is pure gold…experiencing freedom to love is awesome…and remembering the freedom we all have is peaceful.  Here are some fun ideas for freedom month this July:

Give yourselves the freedom to chill.  Ask each other what it is they like to do when they feel like relaxing.  Then together plan a date of chilling.  Maybe it’s reading by the lake, sipping coffee and playing cards, watching a show together, or sitting together in silence holding hands while watching the sunset.  Plan your date around these activities that aren’t really activities, but rather pure pleasure.

Give each other the freedom to choose.  Let one of you totally have the freedom to pick the entire date night process from food to movie to place to activity, etc.  You could give them choices if they need them.  And the one who didn’t get to choose gives the gift of enjoying the night whether or not they like the plan.

Give a night of all things free.  Sit down together and create a date night that doesn’t cost a dime!  Ideas are:  picnic in the park, games in the garage, snacks for two on pillows in front of the television, dancing to tunes and laughing out loud, walking a neighborhood with interesting architecture or landscapes, etc.

Give thanks for freedom together.  Find a way this month to visit a museum, reminisce together of grandparents or parents who served, watch a war movie or…worship together at a new place where no one knows you…giving thanks for freedom to love God because he first loved you!

Give freedom to another couple to come.  Open your car door to a couple, or your home or table, and invite them over.  Perhaps invite someone you’ve never visited with before and offer them the freedom to sit and dine with you as you bless and serve them the entire night.

Which one will you try?
