MOVING FORWARD ◽ ENCOURAGEMENT

If you're like me, making time for meaningful connections with others isn't getting any easier. Life demands so much from all of us! I can easily stay so busy taking care of everything that I don't realize how lonely I feel until it suddenly hits me like a ton of bricks. And I bet I'm not the only one.
How can I consistently fit quality interactions into such a tight schedule?
How can I really make a difference today?
It's helped me so much to find a few Christ-centered friends to pray with over the phone each week. I started with just one friend years ago, and it's evolved into a type of ministry. Some have stayed for only a few weeks and some have prayed with me faithfully for months or years. But we have all been greatly blessed by it.
What better way to love God and others? Not only do we stay abreast of what's going on with one another; we also have the privilege of approaching God as siblings in the Lord. It's incredibly bonding relationship fuel! And it doesn't have to take a lot of time, either. I have to strictly adhere to 30 - 45 minutes per session. But that is all the time that's needed to help each other feel seen and valued, and to help us both feel more focused on what really matters. We confess sin, share struggles and heartache, celebrate victories, laugh, cry, pray for others, and petition God.
This connection takes sacrifice and intentionality. Sometimes we have to set the alarm and sometimes we keep an eye on the clock. It isn't always convenient. But we know that we have been seen and prayed for that day.
Who knows what the ripple effect might be?
I know that I shine a little brighter afterwards, and hopefully that helps me to better love others and bring glory to God throughout the rest of the day.
