THE DRESSING ◽ TIPS
Give Me Color
by Marcy Lytle

July is hot, most places, I think. At least it’s hot where I live. But colorful pieces and comfortable and cute outfits cool us off in the most fun ways! They make us smile. Here are a few of my summer favorites:
Denim dress – Have you shopped at Charlie B? This denim dress is the perfect length, the best wash, and goes with literally every accessory. A must-have.
Matching Two-Piece – I only want a couple of these in my wardrobe, and these are it! Old Navy again, and a winner. The pants were actually in a different section from the top. And both on sale! Loose, cute, feel great. I wore them to an evening outdoor concert. That’s the blue and white. The other was a discount store, also in different areas of the store! It pays to look around! And the tops and bottoms can be worn with so many other options!
Casual Dresses – I found these at Spice Village in Waco, Texas…just one of those random stops where I jumped at these two cute dresses on sale. Like a t-shirt material, both of them made me smile, and the price was right. So perfect for vacation or scooting around town.

Elevated for Work – I love this pale yellow sweater with these plaid trousers I found on the racks at Ross. I added a black belt with gold buckle. Perfect for an elevated look in the summer months, indoors or out.
Green and Gray – with a touch of orange – These shoes by Wanderwell Co are a hit this summer – so many options! And I love the gray and green together, even in my bag. A great combo for the weekend fun you have on your calendar!
Skirts – I have a pale yellow one and a navy stripe one that I wear on repeat. Pale yellow pairs well with deep red. Who knew? And the navy stripe just goes with so much! Both skirts have an elastic waist, and just feel like a million bucks this season.
Pretty Dress – I’ve had this shirt dress a while and I decided to pull it out and wear it, with a belt. Easy choice. Pretty in blue and white. It was just a find on line, and it’s been a keeper.
T-Shirt Maxi – I have two of these, both from Old Navy. A long tshirt dress with a slit on the side. They fit true to size, even a bit generously. One I sewed on some buttons to make the look fun, and the other I just added black accessories to the bold and the blue. I love both!
