PRACTICAL PARENTING â—½ HOME
A Dozen for You
by Marcy Lytle

Maybe a dozen roses is one of your favorite gifts to receive and you’re right, they’re so beautiful. But, of course, give those same roses a couple weeks and the petals fall, the colors fade, and they’re in the trash…while the vase awaits a new bouquet.

I’m not offering a dozen roses, but in a way, I am. You need to know that parenting and all it entails as a mom/parent is hard, you are seen, there’s One who loves you, and walks beside you. And you need to hear from another generation that you’ll survive, intact, and whole, and a better person…as you receive a dozen reminders...so read below.

Print these out.

Hold each stem of truth close.

There are no thorns.
And enjoy your life with the littles in your house, and the home you call yours, that is unlike any other home. And rejoice in the gifts you’ve been given in your children, as these dozen reminders never fade…because His love endures forever.
-
God loves your kids more than you do. Remember that. And rest.
-
The way you love their dad is the best lifetime movie your kids will ever watch.
-
Don’t let fear motivate your parenting. Instead, pray and trust Him in all your ways.
-
Boundaries in parenting are like a fenced yard, giving kids room to roam and play safely.
-
Tired kids and moms make for unpleasant homes. Make rest and good sleep a priority.
-
Observe the sky and the earth and give thanks for the seasons, often. God is good.
-
Dance with your children, and worship, because the joy of the Lord is strength.
-
Have picnics, spread blankets, eat small bites and big ones, and enjoy mealtime.
-
Find a church that worships and teaches the Word, then go there and be a blessing.
-
A grateful family is a great family. Demonstrate gratitude daily in word and deed.
-
Time with your kids is your best investment, and leave the returns up to Him.
-
Parenting is hard, tiring and expensive. Live in the moment. Laugh out loud. Love Him.
