A HOPEFUL HEART â—½ YOU
Who He Is

Hope. It's a small word, my favorite word, one that carries the weight of the soul. In seasons of waiting, in times of heartache, and in the quiet moments when the future feels uncertain, hope shows up. We reach for it like a lifeline, something to cling to when the storms come crashing. But for those of us who believe, our hope is not wishful thinking or blind optimism. Our hope has a name. Our hope is Jesus.

I don’t know what season you’re in right now. Maybe you’re walking through grief that catches you off guard in the quiet moments. Maybe you're waiting on a breakthrough, praying for something so long your heart aches from the longing. Maybe you're waiting for a medical diagnosis to turn around. Maybe life is good, but there's an undercurrent of fear in thinking, what if it doesn’t stay this way? I have walked through each of these seasons and remain in some of them.

Wherever you are, I gently remind you that your hope is secure, not because of your circumstances, but because of Christ.

Hebrews 6:19 says, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." That’s not just poetic language, it’s a promise. Our hope isn’t anchored in outcomes. It isn’t anchored in things going our way. It’s anchored in Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Jesus, who conquered death, who sees us fully, who is near to the brokenhearted, and who is faithful even when we falter.

I’ve learned that hope doesn’t always feel like joy. Sometimes it feels like choosing to believe when everything in you wants to give up. Sometimes hope looks like tears on the bathroom floor, whispering, "Jesus, I trust you," even when you don’t understand the path He’s leading you down.

But that is the power of Christian hope.

It’s not based on how we feel but on who He is.

I’ve walked through seasons where hope felt distant, when prayers seemed unanswered, when doors kept closing, when grief settled over my heart like a heavy fog. But even then, there was Jesus. Steady. Present. Whispering to my soul, "I am your hope." Not the healing, not the provision, not the miracle, though He can bring all those. But Him. Just Him.

And what I’ve come to realize is that when our hope is in Christ, we are never truly hopeless. Because He never changes. He never leaves. And He always, always redeems.

So if your heart is tired, if the waiting feels too long, if the journey feels lonely, take heart. You are not alone. The One who holds the universe also holds your heart. And in Him, your hope is not in vain.

Let this be your reminder today that hope isn’t just a feeling. It’s a Savior. And His name is Jesus.
