MOVING FORWARD ◽ ENCOURAGEMENT
I have been feeling overwhelmed and insecure lately, which isn't a rare thing when life feels out of control. Despite all of the years I have walked with God and all of the times he has proven himself faithful to me, I seem to always revert back to feeling lost and alone when I don't feel on top of things.
Am I the only one who struggles with this?
I know that my remedy will be found in stillness, but there is so much to do! I don't see the end in sight, and slowing down right now is the polar opposite of what my brain tells me to do.
Yet I know that God is masterful at restoring order to my chaos. He knows shortcuts that my mind won't possibly come up with. He just is reminding me to stay connected to him and to remember life's priorities:
1) I am his. He has got this! I can't possibly mess this up beyond his ability to fix it. He is good and has trusted me with stewardship over many things because stewardship is an opportunity for me to both show responsibility and depend on him. It's going to be okay.
2) I need to make lists. None of this is nearly as big as it seems once I get it all on paper. And if any of it has been forgotten, the world won't explode.
3) Eat the elephant one bite at a time. God is on my side with this and isn't asking me to do anything I'm not capable of. Just calm down and begin.
I know that this is a season of preparation for me. I can feel the drum roll of good that is on the way! Now is the time for me to let God help me get my life in order before all of the new arrives.
He understands that sometimes I feel overwhelmed,
and he is patient, able, and delighted to be here for me.
