Four Days Away

We needed a house that sleeps 11, so we found the best one ever just outside of Brenham...
We wanted four days away, with just a few activities in town, and most of our time at the Airbnb, so this was the place. An amazing Summer Haus.

First day we all met at Must Be Heaven, a deli in downtown Brenham, and it did not disappoint. We were able to check in, have our groceries delivered, and enjoyed our first night getting to know the place - this massive home with a pool and a garden and a ping pong table - and fireplaces - yes in July.
Saturday we planned to visit the park in Brenham where the oldest wooden carousel in Texas is housed. it's worth visiting and riding at a mere $1 per person! (It's only open on Saturdays.) We then stopped at Buckin Burger - a fairly new place. The burgers were amazing, but a huge summer thunderstorm sent us running inside from the patio.

The weather cleared up for pool time and we loved it. That night was Christmas in July, an annual decorated dinner with one gift for each person, and lots of fun.

Sunday we opted for staying around the house all day. The house itself is an experience. The kids picked herbs and flowers from the garden.
The pool is flanked by large bushes that give the whole atmosphere an elevate look. The patio has lots of fans and there's an outdoor bathroom. Did I mention the amazing sunset?

The porches are fantastic, ,and there are two tree swings as well...and trails to explore behind the house.

While there we also had time to shop a bit in downtown Brenham and found Mescalito - a cute coffee shop and store. The kids listened to music downtown one night.

The last day as we packed up to leave, we of course had to stop by Blue Bell to watch the factory in live motion, taste the flavors and visit the store there.

It was a great place, and the kids wanted us all to move there...for good!
