Have You Been to Cleburne?

Maybe you've been to this city or maybe not, but we went to meet friends and had a blast.

First stop was a tiny town just a few miles from Cleburne, which is Itasca. There's really nothing in this town EXCEPT for the Towne Country Store - an Amish store and deli. You'll want at least an hour here. We opted for their deli sandwiches first (they're huge and delish!) and then we shopped. They have everything cool on their shelves, and we stocked up on dark chocolate covered nuts to their amazing submarine dressing, and even a few toys - it's just the most fun stop!

On to Cleburne, where we stopped at the Liberty Hotel first, just because it's historic and cool. Inside, the lady behind the desk told us about the original floor and wood, and it's just interesting. You can stay there of course, if you want to.

We walked around and found ourselves at one of the many antique stores there, and again we found treasures. My friend found a piece of pink glassware she loved, and I scored some retro fidget cubes for the kids. Antique stores are plenty in Cleburne!

There's a root beer bar in downtown that is really cool, so we stopped in for a root beer float (when's the last time you had one?) and took home assorted salt water taffy from their candy bar. It's a relaxing place, sort of like a coffee house atmosphere.

We have a niece and nephew that pastor the First Baptist Church in Cleburne and it's worth a stop just to see the building, the stained glass, the organ, etc. You'll have to call...or you can wait and go to church there on Sunday morning (which we did!)

We were with friends and so we visited a lot...until dinner time. We picked Chaf-In and were not disappointed one bit. Our food was delicious.

We just stayed in the Hampton Inn for one night and it was really clean and pretty and awesome.

The next morning we did attend church and heard Cliff Holdridge speak. The people at First Baptist were the friendliest and the teaching was so good. We all ate lunch afterwards at a restaurant called Our House - another great choice.

We didn't get to shop at half of the downtown stores and want to go back. And we'd definitely visit the root beer bar and those same restaurants again! Cleburne also has the Plaza Theatre that puts on fun shows, and a really cute coffee house we stopped by before church - called the Nolan River Coffeehouse - the cutest place!

We didn't have enough time in Cleburne and definitely want to go back!
