I saw a recipe for something like this in a popcorn recipe book I have, but I decided to tweak it a bit to suit our tastes. Instead of ice cream, the base is popcorn! How cool is that!
First, pop some popcorn!
Then this:
4 squares of dark chocolate (I used dark chocolate chips)
2 T butter
3 T light corn syrup
Place chocolate, butter and syrup in pan and gently heat, letting it all melt, stirring occasionally. Bring to a boil and let it boil one minute.
Remove from the heat and toss with the popcorn, stirring gently. LET IT COOL.
Using clear sundae glasses, add the popcorn, pressing to pile it high. I just placed a tiny pretzel and a few mini M&M's around for decor.
Offer a napkin, put on a movie, and let them enjoy!
(At first he said he didn't like it, but then he ate the whole sundae!)
